What happens after the demand letter has been sent regarding an auto accident claim?

Does anyone know the time frame that these things take? All I know is my lawyer sent State Farm a demand letter on April 9, about the accident that took place early last year. Do they usually take awhile to respond? Does state farm them give my lawyer a number, or is this for something else?

Any help would be appreciated. Lawyer of course does not tell me anything.

Is one third of the settlement amount an average fee for a lawyer to take in an auto accident case?

I was injured in an auto accident recently. I spoke to a lawyer and he said he would take my case and would charge me one third of whatever settlement he is able to get me. I have tried contacting other lawyers to make sure I’m getting the best deal possible, but so far no one else has gotten back to me.

Have you ever been at fault for an auto accident? I accidentally bumped in to someone in the rain on the highway and I feel kind of down about it. Anyone else done something stupid like that?

Why hasn’t the auto accident rate risen with cell phone usage?

If you look at rates for auto fatalities and auto accidents, they haven’t changed much in the period of time when cell phone usage has skyrocketed. It seems to me that a lot of the time I see an erratic driver, s/he is on the cell phone. Why haven’t auto fatality and accident rates gone up with cell phone usage?

Was in an auto accident and received treatment from chiropractor. The at fault insurance company says my medical bills are to high and they will only pay 700 and will send me 500 for pain and suffering. This does not seem right for an accident that had over 8 thousand dollars in body damage to vehicle.

I was in an auto accident. At first I chose at fault person’s insurance company’s mechanic shop, now I have been advised that I should choose my own. I will do that and is there anything wrong with taking the car to the manufacturer’s service shop?

I’m recovering from an auto accident which broke 11 bones. I’m doing well now and want to do something to get back in shape. Kickboxing seems like a really good exercise for me but, I’m not strong anymore and I get tired pretty easily. I know I just need to gain my strength back but is kickboxing to advanced for me right now? What do you think?

I had a 2005 530i that was in a major accident (not my fault) and I believe that the car is totaled. The insurance company is considering to bring it back by repairing it. Everyone who buys a car would look at the CarFax before buying. If they repair it, I would take a huge lost on my car. I don’t feel like driving this car. It is unsafe in my view. Plus, no one will ever buy this car with so many marks against it. Major accident (police report), air bag deployed. With this on the car fax I would not want to sell it. I wouldn’t want anyone to drive a repaired car. I would lose most of the cars value. This would not be fair to me and I would lose too much and this wasn’t my fault. What would you do if you were in my shoes?
I’m wondering if this has happened to the people who think this isn’t a problem. They don’t know what happens to the value to the car with two major hits on the Carfax. Even the adjuster agrees that I would not have a fair compension for my car. I spoke to three dealers in my area and they all told me that the car will not be worth much and buyer to pass on the car. All three would take the car as a trade. I car with an deployed airbag and the police report states that the car sustained major damage. The entire front of the car is crushed and the frame is clearly damaged and the engine has been crushed. Anyone who knows about selling a BMW will tell you that no body would buy this car with the history documented. I wonder if this has happened to you, would you still feel ok with getting back a car that is lost it’s value and no dealer would take it as a trade. BMW buyers will check everything and the only way to sell this is to drop the price between 25% to 40%. Is this fair?
