Are my parents responsible for injury in an auto accident caused by me?

I about just had a question liability. I had an automotive accident the other day. There is the possiblity of an injury in the other party; the accident was my fault. My insurance covers up to only $25,000 for personal injuries. Suppose that the opposing party needs a significant amount over that. I am an 18 year old without much money. Are my parents liable/are they required to fork out the money? I am dependent under them by law and we are all on the same insurance policy. I reside in State of Texas.

Does anyone know the time frame that these things take? All I know is my lawyer sent State Farm a demand letter on April 9, about the accident that took place early last year. Do they usually take awhile to respond? Does state farm them give my lawyer a number, or is this for something else?

Any help would be appreciated. Lawyer of course does not tell me anything.

I was injured in an auto accident recently. I spoke to a lawyer and he said he would take my case and would charge me one third of whatever settlement he is able to get me. I have tried contacting other lawyers to make sure I’m getting the best deal possible, but so far no one else has gotten back to me.

Have you ever been at fault for an auto accident? I accidentally bumped in to someone in the rain on the highway and I feel kind of down about it. Anyone else done something stupid like that?

Why hasn’t the auto accident rate risen with cell phone usage?

anachron asked:

If you look at rates for auto fatalities and auto accidents, they haven’t changed much in the period of time when cell phone usage has skyrocketed. It seems to me that a lot of the time I see an erratic driver, s/he is on the cell phone. Why haven’t auto fatality and accident rates gone up with cell phone usage?

Was in an auto accident and received treatment from chiropractor. The at fault insurance company says my medical bills are to high and they will only pay 700 and will send me 500 for pain and suffering. This does not seem right for an accident that had over 8 thousand dollars in body damage to vehicle.
